Arab League welcomes ceasefire in Libya

The Arab League, Sunday, welcomed the announcement of the Libyan Presidential Council and the National Army to cease hostilities as of today.

The pan-Arab organization called on warring parties to halt infighting and end escalation, and to try to reach permanent measures to end hostilities and to resume the diplomatic track spearheaded by UN Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame, as part of the general framework set by the Berlin peace process.
