Arab agriculture ministers convene in Amman on goods flow

Amman will host Sunday the quadripartite meeting of Arab Agriculture Ministers that will see the participation of agriculture ministers from Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

The meeting comes at the heel of meetings held in Beirut, Lebanon, in July to discuss Arab cooperation in facilitating the flow of goods. It focused on food security and integration mechanisms between the participating countries and identifying ways of cooperation in combating climate change.

The meeting will be joined by representatives of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), the World Food Programme (WFP), the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS), the Arab Centre for Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
