Anti-drug police foil drug smuggling attempt, nabbed suspects

Amman, The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) crews foiled an attempt to smuggle 200 thousand narcotic pills and nabbed the five drug dealers. The pills were hidden in a vehicle compartment and prepared for trafficking for another country. The shipment was confiscated and the suspects put into custody, according to a Public Security Directorate (PSD) statement put out on Sunday.

After collecting intensive data on the operation, the investigation team raided the scene and caught the five suspects red-handed at a suburb of Amman after the personnel successfully spotted location of the drug dealers’ vehicle, said the statement.

The statement identified the drugs confiscated in the thwarted shipment as Captagon pills.
