All roads in Amman open despite heavy rainfall, says Mayor
Amman, Amman Mayor, Yousef Shawarbeh, Friday, said that the situation in the capital’s streets is under control, in light of the heavy rainfall which drenched many parts of the country.
He told Petra that a drainage system was ready to manage and discharge rainwater.
The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) declared on Thursday a medium alert level in preparation for a depression and a wet air mass, which brought heavy rain and high winds, and were expected to continue over the weekend.
Municipal technical teams were deployed near tunnels across the capital to prevent rainwater from obstructing traffic movement.
