ACC, Qatari envoy discuss economic ties

Amman, The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) board of directors on Tuesday discussed with the Qatari Ambassador, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, means of boosting bilateral ties, especially between the private sectors in the two countries.

During the meeting, the board called on Qatari businessmen to increase their investments in the Kingdom in various economic sectors “with added value.”

It hailed Qatari efforts, which provided job opportunities for Jordanians through the business platform that went online last year, under an agreement between the two governments, to employ 10,000 Jordanians in various productive sectors in Qatar.

The board called on the Qatari side to increase the Jordanian business sector’s participation in projects for the 2022 World Cup, in addition to facilitating the process of granting visas to Jordanian businessmen and investors.

A statement issued by the ACC voiced keenness to launch joint exhibitions to promote industries and goods in the two countries.

The Qatari envoy underlined the strong bilateral relations, lauding the role of the Jordanian community in Qatar in supporting the Gulf state’s process of development.

He stressed the need for cooperation and coordination between the chamber and the Qatari private sector, and voiced the embassy’s keenness to provide facilitations for businessmen.
