Aboul Gheit mulls over comprehensive settlement to Libyan crisis
Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Heiko Maas, Monday, discussed the latest developments on the Libyan crisis and preparations to uphold the Berlin Summit that is expected to explore peace efforts.
A statement issued by the pan-Arab organization said that Aboul Gheit and Maas had discussed over the phone the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at upholding a ceasefire between the Presidential Council and the Libyan National Army.
They also touched on bids to resume the diplomatic track between the Libyan parties, which is under the auspices of UN Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame, and preparations for the Berlin Summit.
