34 contacts of truck drivers test negative for COVID-19

The results of 34 samples tested for the COVID-19 have come back negative, an official told Petra on Wednesday.

Wael Hayajana, the official overseeing the COVID-19 crisis in the northern governorates, said the families of truck drivers who tested positive were swabbed for the virus.

Hayajana stated that the epidemiological inspection teams have increased their efforts and are swabbing samples from contacts of infected individuals as a precautionary measure.

He said that the epidemiological situation in the Irbid governorate in particular and in the northern governorates in general is stable, predicting that no new cases of infection will be recorded today. The official pointed out that complacency may “put us back in the danger zone.”
