Cabinet approves Planning and International Cooperation draft law

Amman: The Cabinet Wednesday approved the draft law on the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC) for 2024 before referring it to the Lower House.

The draft law would strengthen MOPIC’s role as a reference and link between all ministries, departments, official and public institutions and funding from other countries and international institutions.

It would make the Ministry the authority concerned with developing methodologies for preparing visions, development plans and action programmes and organising the mechanism for obtaining funding from donors and international bodies to non-profit associations, companies and cooperatives.

The Ministers approved a draft law ratifying an amendment to the agreement on rehabilitating and expanding the Queen Alia International Airport between Jordan and the International Airport Group Company (AGC) for 2024 before referring it to the Lower House.

The Council approved a draft law amending the Civil Procedure Code of 2024 before referring it to the Lo
wer House to limit unjustified appeals and to reduce the burden on the Court of Cassation.

The Council of Ministers approved an amendment to the insurance coverage law of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) of 2024 to enable the Corporation to collect money institutions owe.

The Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for the medical committees’ draft law of 2024 before submitting it to the Legislative and Opinion Bureau.

Training program for graduates of third batch in Beni Matar


A training program was implemented in the Bani Matar District of Sana’a Governorate on the occasion of the graduation of the third batch of the “Al-Aqsa Flood”.

The program began by reviewing the military operation’s path map to be applied by the general mobilization forces, who received practical and theoretical training.

Mahafzeh meets candidate for UNESCO head post

Amman: Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafzeh, on Wednesday met with former Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Egyptian candidate for the position of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Dr. Khaled Anani, for the period 2025-2029.

During the meeting attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan, Mohamed Samir, and Coordinator of the Egyptian nomination campaign for the position of UNESCO Director-General, Wael Abdel Wahab, the minister affirmed support to Anani to assume this position, wishing him success in this mission.

Popular show for graduates of ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ courses in Mahwit


The Malhan District in Al-Mahwit Governorate witnessed a symbolic popular parade of more than three thousand fighters who graduated from the open military courses ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’.

In the parade, the graduates presented a military display that reflected popular interaction and readiness to fight the battle of the promised conquest and holy jihad.

AABU, Chinese Embassy talk academic cooperation

Mafraq: President of Al al-Bayt University (AABU), Dr. Osama Nusair, and Cultural Advisor at the Chinese Embassy, Shi Wei, on Wednesday discussed ways of joint cooperation, importance of establishing academic exchange programs, and opening new programs, in collaboration with Chinese universities.

During the meeting, Nusair stressed the need to strengthen relations with Chinese universities in the information technology and engineering fields, in addition to teaching Chinese at AABU’s Language Center.

Meanwhile, Assistant Director of AABU’s Department of International Relations and Affairs, Dr. Tariq Arar, highlighted the importance of signing “detailed” agreements to open student and academic exchange programs with Chinese universities.

Arar said this process would improve the university’s ranking and enhance expertise exchange with the Chinese side.

Works Minister : Arrangements began to open Sana’a – Al Dhale’ – Aden and Sana’a – Al Bayda – Abyan – Aden roads


The Minister of Public Works and Roads in the caretaker government, Ghaleb Mutlaq, revealed the start of arrangements to open the Sana’a – Al Dhale’- Aden road, as well as Sana’a – Al Bayda – Abyan – Aden road.

The Minister of Works confirmed to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that, at the request of the Revolution Leader , Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, and the Speaker of the parliament, Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, the coordination and communication process had begun to open these two important roads that serve millions of Yemenis.

The Minister appreciated the absolute interest and keenness of the revolutionary and political leadership in opening roads, especially the Sana’a – Al Dhale’- Aden and Sana’a – Al Bayda – Abyan – Aden roads, as they are among the most important and vital main roads linking many of the provinces of the Republic.

He pointed out the importance of this step, which coincides with the advent of the h
oly month of Ramadan, and which will have a significant impact in alleviating the suffering of millions of citizens, stressing the importance of all efforts to make this step a success.
