2 Israeli settlers injured in attack in occupied East Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem, Two Jewish settlers were seriously injured on Saturday in a shooting incident in Silwan neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem, a day after a Palestinian gunman shot dead seven Israelis and wounded seventeen others, according to Israeli media.

The Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported that shooting was heard in Silwan, south of Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City, which turned to be a new attack.

Meantime, Israeli forces raided the home of 21-year-old Khairi Alqam, who was killed in yesterday’s deadly attack in the settlement of Nevi Yacob, north of Jerusalem, and arrested 15 young men who were in the house, bringing the total number of those rounded up to 42, many of them were relatives of the gunman, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

Israeli police were on high alert since the early morning across East Jerusalem in anticipation of further attacks.
