16 COVID-19 related deaths, 867 infections recorded Friday
The Ministry of Health said, on Friday, it recorded 16 COVID-19 related deaths and 867 cases of the coronavirus across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll to 4,528 and the total number of infections to 357,611.
The new infections were: 390 in Amman, 156 in Irbid, including two in Ramtha district, 136 in Zarqa, 104 in Balqaa, 41 in Karak, 10 in Jerash, 9 in Aqaba, 6 in Madaba, 5 in Ajloun, 5 in Tafila, and 5 in Mafraq, according to the daily brief by the Health Ministry and the Prime Ministry on the pandemic.
It said that the number of currently active cases reached 20,191, with 130 admitted to hospitals today and 52 discharged.
It said that 12,421 swab tests were taken today, bringing the total number of PCR tests conducted since the start of the pandemic to 4,328,210, with a positivity rate today of 6.98 per cent.
