The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) registered a total of 148 thousand tourists in the first third of 2022, compared with 17 thousand visitors in the same period of 2021, the PDTRA said on Tuesday.
It added that a total of 57,357 guests visited Petra city in April, 2022, including 53,795 foreigner visitors, 712 Arabs and 2496 Jordanians.
PDTRA Chief Commissioner Suleiman Farajat, in a statement, said that the Red Rose City is witnessing a notable increase in number of visitors since the beginning of the current year.
Petra tourism has rebounded after the government eased the restrictions of the COVID-19 at the beginning of last March.
