The Ministry of Health said Tuesday that Jordan recorded 10 coronavirus deaths and 1,790 infections across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 11,062 and the caseload to 866,451.

According to the ministry’s daily brief, the number of currently active cases reached 21,650 with 90 admitted to hospitals today, adding that 92 cases have been discharged. It said that the total number of confirmed cases that are now hospitalized reached 595.

According to the daily report, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 14 per cent, intensive care beds was 34 per cent and ventilators 16 per cent.

The occupancy rate of isolation beds in the central region was at 15 percent, intensive care beds 29 per cent and ventilators 10 per cent, it said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 12 per cent, intensive care beds 13 per cent and ventilators 8 per cent, it said.

The ministry said that 1,232 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries by the end of the 14-day isolation period to 833,739.

It also said that 35,149 PCR tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of swab tests that had been collected since the beginning of the pandemic to 11,041,412, pointing out that the positivity rate for the day was about 5.09 per cent.

Some 3,971,933 received the first COVID-19 jab, while 3,542,526 received the two jabs, the brief added.
